Green Bio-Refinery Up, Solar Stocks Down

Thu, 05 Jun 2008 11:16:38 PDT
These are strange but promising times for green-oriented investments. Although oil prices are again on the rise today, the general short-term trend is down, and some analysts believe oil will fall to around $100 by the end of the summer. I don't buy this, but the market does and solar stocks were beaten down yesterday. First though, good news for..

Tue, 29 Apr 2008 07:27:42 PDT
If it is on TV it is popular on Google. I check my Google trends almost every morning to see what is hot and what is not and how I can profit from that just like any good blogger. What I have found out this morning is neurosyphilis, which was this week’s featured but wrong diagnosis on House sits in the number two slot, right behind Harvey Dent

Fox News Idiots

Wed, 30 Apr 2008 00:52:02 PDT
I'm amazed at the stuff I see on Fox sometimes as they are so bad it is hard to watch. This one blew me away even for them. They were talking about the Lincoln Douglas debates when they showed Fredrick Douglas instead of Stephen Douglas. What killed me more was that no one on the set noticed nor did anyone correct it later.

CBC: It’s a “bungle”! No it’s a “blunder”! Hang on: it’s a “gaffe”!

Fri, 18 Apr 2008 12:50:34 PDT
CBC: It’s a “bungle”! No it’s a “blunder”! Hang on: it’s a “gaffe”! It ain’t good, that’s for sure! Just yesterday I had to update my Monday blog entry because the fair and balanced state-owned CBC Newsworld kept changing its mind about the Conservative government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Bernier, and how to officially describe his, um, verbal malfunction. On Monday I showed you how Canada’s cable news networks—the state-owned one and the citizen-owned one against which t

"The One-Volume Wikipedia Encyclopedia"??

Thu, 24 Apr 2008 09:18:55 PDT
I don't think I've ever come up empty after a Wikipedia search. That's one of the most attractive features of the Wikipedia, right? You rarely leave without finding something of value. The search options seem endless and it's got way more content than you could possibly squeeze into one volume or even a shelf full of volumes. So what's up with this announcement that Bertelsmann is going to "publish what could be the first in a series of annual yearbooks whose content is derived from the man

The CBC will dramatically increase resources devoted to covering local and national news in Alberta generally and Calgary and Edmonton in particular. Public: Don't Mess With My Flight Plans

Sun, 13 Aug 2006 11:58:25 PDT
"Pretty soon we'll have to fly naked!" The mass media rapidly embraced the UK terror storyline fed to them. The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...
